how to create Citus PostgreSQL

To create a Citus distributed database on Citus Hyperscale, you will need to do the following:

  1. Sign up for a Citus Hyperscale account and enable the Citus Hyperscale service.

  2. Open the Citus Hyperscale dashboard and go to the Citus Hyperscale page.

  3. Click the “Create” button to start the database creation process.

  4. Enter a name for your Citus database and select the region and data center where you want to create the database.

  5. Select the version of PostgreSQL you want to use and specify any other settings or options you want to configure for your database.

  6. Click the “Create database” button to create the database.

Once your Citus database has been created, it will be automatically configured and initialized with the settings you specified. You can then connect to your database using the standard PostgreSQL client tools, such as psql or pgAdmin, and use these tools to create and manage tables, users, and other database objects, and to run SQL queries and perform other tasks with your Citus database.

In addition to creating a new Citus database, you can also import an existing PostgreSQL database into Citus Hyperscale using the Citus Hyperscale dashboard, the citus command-line tool, or the Citus Hyperscale API. This can be useful if you have an existing PostgreSQL database that you want to migrate to Citus Hyperscale and manage using the Citus distributed database extension.
